Everything you need to know about accessing the NDIS

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is an Australian government program that provides funding to people with permanent and significant disabilities. It gives you greater choice and control over the support you need to live a more independent and fulfilling life.

Who is eligible? To access the NDIS you need to be under 65 years of age, be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, and have a permanent disability that significantly affects your ability to carry out everyday activities.

What can the NDIS fund? Your NDIS plan can fund daily personal care, transport, therapy, support coordination, household tasks, community participation, home modifications and equipment.

How do I apply? Call the NDIS on 1800 800 110 or submit an access request at ndis.gov.au. You will need evidence from a treating professional about your disability and how it affects your daily life.
